Job Summary

This position will assist the Advising Center at the front desk answering the phones and scheduling appointments with the appropriate advisor. Answers questions and directs students and visitors to the appropriate department to resolve questions and issues. Assisting other Advising Center staff in the department as needed. Aid with planning and arranging meetings and special events. Other duties or special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Must be a current University of West Georgia student enrolled in 6 credit hours or more.

Must have and maintain a 2.0 GPA.

High levels of professionalism and excellent customer service skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality, proper phone etiquette, and dependability

Excellent at multitasking and time management

Strong communication skills, written and verbal

General computer knowledge; Microsoft Office, MS Word, and Excel

Must be able to work 20 hours

Must have Federal Work-Study award

Preferred Qualifications

Previous administrative and office experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Student needs to demonstrate a strong work ethic, critical thinking, good observational skills, teamwork, communication skills, time management, and motivation.

Physical Requirements

Able to lift 20 lbs
