Assistant Director of Student Engagement / Residential Coordinator

The Office of Residence Life and Center for Student Engagement are posting an opening for the position of Assistant Director of Student Engagement / Residential Coordinator. This unique position works collaboratively within Residence Life and Student Engagement to provide high quality programs and services for the campus community. This position is a full-time live-in University administrator with a variety of campus responsibilities.

Residential Coordinator Responsibilities:

As a Residential Coordinator (RC), responsibilities include management of a residence hall with a projected occupancy of up to 293 students. Includes supervision of resident assistant staff, coordination of hall programs, hall council advising, shared on-call duty, student discipline, crisis management, and referral. Residential Coordinator staff share in the coordination of shared central office responsibilities within Residence Life. Positions may include management and coordination of central office assignments and other duties as assigned.

Assistant Director Responsibilities:

As the Assistant Director (AD), responsibilities include providing high-quality programs and services for the campus community to enhance the student experience. The AD coordinates select programs and services within Student Engagement and actively participates and leads as needed in program development. Core responsibilities will focus on the functional areas of leadership, student organization development, and campus activities and programs. Provides advising and program support to major student organizations to provide an enriching menu of campus wide events. Responsibilities assigned within Student Engagement constitute one quarter time to one third time responsibilities.

This position requires strong supervisory, organizational, and human relations abilities, as well as professional verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products is necessary. Direct experience in student life or residential life preferred. Valid driver’s license required. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. This is a twelve month, full time, salaried non-exempt appointment with full university benefits. Due to the nature of the position, a residence hall efficiency apartment (furnished) and a standard Fall and Spring meal plan is provided by the University.
