Position Summary

Enrollment Services is comprised of Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions, Office of Evaluations, Office of the Registrar, Prospective Student Services, Class Schedule, and Communications. Enrollment Services implements SDSU enrollment management policies and provides services to students from their initial point of interest in SDSU to their graduation.

The functions of the Office of Evaluations are to provide service to the students through determination of eligibility for admission to the University, evaluation of academic records to determine the status of completion of degree requirements, advising on the academic record, supporting campus advisors on advising tools and degree requirements, and liaison with other departments of the University and other educational institutions.

Under general direction of the Associate Director of Evaluations, the primary responsibilities of the Campus Support and Academic Advisor/Evaluator position are: determination of transfer admission eligibility, evaluation of students’ records toward undergraduate degree requirements, advising students on the academic record, preparation of degree evaluations, SDSU Navigate (EAB) support and analytics, campus support with advising and graduation requirements.

This is a full-time (1.0 time-base) benefits eligible, permanent (probationary) position. This position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.

Education and Experience

Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a job-related field. Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown below may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Possession of the required knowledge and abilities is typically demonstrated through the equivalent of three years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth. A Master’s degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications and Specialized Skills

• Five years of experience in interpreting and explaining academic policies governing public or private university admissions.
• Five years of experience working in a college or university’s admissions, advising, evaluations, registrar or other student service related office.
• Three years of experience in interpreting and explaining certification policies of the CSU and California community college systems.
• Experience with a college/university’s student information system.
• Demonstrated experience using a degree audit system and academic advising notes and scheduling system.
• Demonstrated experience reviewing college transcript information.
• Ability to calculate grade point averages.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $4,691 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,691 - $6,683 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
