Job Description

This position supports and coordinates activities of the Professional & Career Development Center at the School of Law, which offers employer services and career planning and professional development services for law students and alumni.

Functioning as the Associate Director, primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with the team (Director and Associate Director of Career Services) to plan and implement student programs and services offered by the Law School’s Office of Career Services.
  • Overseeing the Pro Bono Honors Program for Law Students.
  • Assisting in the American Bar Association and National Association of Law Placement data collection processes.
  • Advising and assisting law students and alumni with resume writing, cover letter writing, career planning and search strategies.
  • Collecting data and preparing reports.
  • Working effectively with students, alumni, colleagues, other departments, professional associations, and employers.

The position will report to the Director of Professional & Career Development Center of the School of Law.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

A Juris Doctor Degree or a Master's degree in Guidance and Counseling or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary. Experience in career advising is necessary, but can be met by counseling of interns, clerks or junior associates.
Superior interpersonal, administrative, and computer skills are essential. Knowledge of the legal profession, trends in legal employment opportunities, connections with the legal community, and a genuine interest in helping students and alumni are necessary.

$19.47 - $20.00 per hour
