Job SummaryPrepare, process, submit, and negotiate research and development proposals; administer awards, including contracts and grants under federally-funded contracts including the Department of Defense. Manage pre- and post-award activities. Provide contractual services and guidance to faculty and research staff including review, analysis and interpretation of new awards. Monitors grant and contract performance.
This position will interact on a consistent basis with: academic and research faculty and management, sponsor organization representatives. This position typically will advise and counsel: academic and research faculty and management.
Educational Requirements
Degrees required for this job: Bachelor's degree required.
Other Required Qualifications
Requires obtaining national security clearance
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Certifications or licenses preferred: NCMA CFCM

- Specialized skills required for this job:
- This job requires a working knowledge of contract administration principles and practices including those specific to the Federal Acquisition Regulations and its supplements and the OMB's 2 CFR 200, Uniform Administrative Requirements. Communications and negotiations skills are required as are those related to use of office and specialized computer applications and systems.
- Years of experience required for this job: Two to Five years job related experience
KNOWLEDGE
Application of required skills within a not for profit, educational, federal government contractor, or federal government organization is preferred.
SKILLS
Duties may include but are not limited to:
' Facilitate research proposal preparation, processing and submission.
' Inform faculty and staff on proposal submission process, regulatory compliance requirements and Institute policy.
' Negotiate or coordinate negotiations of terms and conditions related to contract awards.
' Coordinate approval certification process.
' Monitor awards and serve as contact for all business/contractual matters throughout life cycle of award.
' Perform other related duties as assigned.
