Reporting directly to the Vice Provost for Faculty, the Executive Director for Faculty Affairs will serve as deputy to the Vice Provost. The Executive Director will provide support for development, implementation, and assessment of strategic priorities and initiatives as directed by the Vice Provost. The Executive Director will: conduct in-depth research and data analysis of current and potential initiatives, policies, and procedures related to faculty affairs, diversity, leadership and career development programming, and other aspects of faculty life; make recommendations for potential changes in policies and practices; write reports, briefings, and proposals describing current activities and potential new activities; work closely and collaboratively with other members of the Provost’s Office to provide support for key initiatives; and serve as point person for internal and external constituents regarding VPF initiatives. The Executive Director will also: supervise staff within the VPF portfolio; oversee on-going initiatives including leadership programming, diversity and bias training, and communication to Penn faculty; and provide support to implement new data systems and tools (e.g., academic analytics).Job Description

Candidates will have a Master’s degree, Doctoral degree preferred, and at least five years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with program management and knowledge of faculty careers and higher education are required. The successful candidate will have an established record of effective interaction with diverse stakeholders, outstanding research and analytic skills, proficiency in writing reports and creating presentations, excellent oral and written communication, and excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will also have experience managing a team, be an effective collaborator and team player, and be committed to advancing faculty diversity and inclusion.
