Lecturer

The Department of Anthropology in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Colorado Denver invites applications for a two lecturer positions beginning in the 2021-2022 academic year. The appointment will be for a one-year period with the possibility of renewal for up to two additional one-year periods. Candidates may begin in August 2021.

The teaching load is one to two courses (3-6 credit hours) per semester and includes teaching core classes at the undergraduate level. We seek candidates with a broad background in the field of cultural anthropology.  Candidates will be expected to teach “Culture and the Human Experience” (ANTH 2102),’ and/or Cultural Diversity in the Modern World” (ANTH 3142). Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching cultural anthropology and experience/interest in using engaged and or experiential learning methods to reach a highly diverse undergraduate student population with many first-generation students. Fall semester classes begin 23rd August 2021.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $1,250 per credit hour (lower division) and $1,395 per credit hour (upper division).

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

    Hold a master’s degree in Anthropology by date of appointment.
