The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music's Global Jazz Studies IDP invites applications for a part-time lecturer position in Instruction in Advanced Jazz Performance: Guitar for the 2021-22 academic year. Salary commensurate with applicant qualifications and experience; percentage of appointment commensurate with teaching load.

Applicants should have advanced expertise in group and solo performance of a diverse mixture of Jazz guitar at the university level. Responsibilities will include individual student instruction. University teaching experience preferred. A bachelor's degree preferred.

Applicants should submit the following items: a cover letter stating interest in the position, a comprehensive curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, and a statement of contribution to diversity. In addition, please provide names and contact information for at least three professional references. The application deadline is August 31, 2021. In the 2007 edition of U.S. News and World Report, UCLA Medical Center was ranked best in the West, as well as one of the top 3 hospitals in the United States alongside Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Johns Hopkins Hospital. In 15 of the 16 medical specialty areas examined, UCLA Medical Center ranked in the top 20.
