This position is responsible for creating division of financial responsibility agreements for new buildings, along with reviewing and updating all division of responsibility financial agreements for existing buildings. Develops standard operating procedures for maintenance for both new and existing buildings. This position also contributes to the variance request process, University Facilities Standards updating process, manages customer expectations, and improves customer satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Create new division of financial responsibility agreements and provides updates to existing agreements for buildings across campus. The agreements outlines the financial responsibilities for repair, replacement, and maintenance of the physical assets within a building.
2. Assist in developing and updating University Facilities Standards to achieve the quality of assets consistent with comparable institutions within Big Ten schools.
3. Act as liaison to Campus and University Departments in matters of maintenance responsibilities.
4. Assist the Capital Construction Planning and Project Management in reviewing responses to variances requests and drawing drawings and submittals.
5. Coordinate with OMA in evaluating new products with respect to maintenance and service.
6. Prepare and coordinate training and education sessions for the Engineering Services staff.
7. Actively seek methods and procedures to improve quality and reduce the life cycle cost of the University of Illinois facilities.
8. Perform other tasks as requested by the Associate Director and Director.
9. Facilitate document progress through the approval process to the Executive Director.
10. Work in close association with Operations, Maintenance and Alterations (OMA) in defining divisions of responsibility on new and older projects.
11. Develop plans that set priorities that address the most critical division of responsibility first.
12. Propose updates to the division of responsibility Boiler Plate and Asset Clarification Sheet.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction management or a field related to the position.

Preferred:Advanced technical degrees and/or a degree in mechanical engineering.

Work Experience
Required:Four years of work experience with construction projects and specification. Experience analyzing and interpreting construction documentation.

Preferred:Experience with engineering, architecture, institutional facilities, construction, or quality assurance.

Training, Licenses, or Certifications

Preferred:
CEM, CEFP, LEED or additional certification or licensure in architecture, engineering, energy or facility management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Professional demeanor. Knowledge of building systems. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project. Strong background in engineering, architecture or construction related field. Proficiency in review of technical drawings. Ability to interact and engage with people at all levels of F&S and campus. Ability to plan, prioritize and execute projects. Demonstrate excellent communication skills.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (ex: Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and Outlook), AutoDESK products (such as AutoCAD and REVIT), Blubeam Revu and University tools such as AiM and Archibus.

SALARY AND APPOINTMENT INFORMATION:
This is a full-time Civil Service Program Coordinator position. The expected start date is as soon as possible after August 8, 2021. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Research

Undergraduate Education
