Primary Position Function/Summary: Under general supervision of the County Director and 4-H Youth Development Educator, this position, the Bilingual/Bicultural 4-H Extension Program Coordinator, supports the implementation of University of Illinois Extension youth and 4-H programs initiated and directed by professional staff. The Bilingual/Bicultural 4-H Extension Program Coordinator will be responsible for facilitating and supporting programming in the area of youth development with the Hispanic/Latino communities in Grundy and Will Counties.

• Design, implement and evaluate bilingual culturally responsive youth programs in partnership with Latino Communities.
• Learn and transfer present county 4-H programs and policies to volunteers, families and youth.
• Adapt present and oversee new programs to motivate youth to participate in further bilingual 4-H activities.
• Develop new clubs or assist present clubs in developing an environment of inclusiveness.
• Develop an understanding of Positive Youth Development in both languages.6. Work with unit and State 4-H staff to develop programs, materials, activities and clubs through regular reporting and cross training.
• Disseminate educational information provided by Extension professionals8. Work with staff to make sure youth are accounted for within our systems and meeting unit deadlines.
• Work with unit staff to gain understanding of and implement risk management.
• Evaluate success of activities and program.
• Work with County Director to develop necessary understanding of fiscal issues.
• Submit activity and contacts to supervisor
• Recruit, train, and support the community with Latino volunteers to assist in the delivery of educational programs to youth.
• Maintain positive relationships with community families.
• Develop and cultivate relationships with leaders in the community.
• Communicate on a regular basis with club leaders and members through social media, websites, email, newsletter, direct mail, or phone/text.
• Identify and recruit varying levels of committed volunteers and support parents.
• Continually train volunteers about possibilities and obligations of 4-H and Positive Youth Development.
• Develop and/or work with a local collaboration to promote positive youth development for Latino Youth
• Build official relationships with target communities.
• Favorably explain the 4-H pilot program to key constituents.
• Manage constant communication with involved communities.
• Comply with University of Illinois Extension Affirmative Action/ Equal Opportunities policies and guidelines.
• Support the local mission of University of Illinois Extension and have an understanding of the programming it provides.
• Assist other unit staff in marketing programs within the Latino community.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. High school graduation or GED

2.Any one or any combination that equals four (4) years/ 48 months of responsible volunteer or professional work experience in coordinating educational and/or community programs or activities

• 60 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)

This Extension Program Coordinator position is a 50%-time, benefits-eligible Civil Service position. The work schedule is to be determined (12 months per year). The minimum salary is $19.48718 per hour.
