Psychologists will provide individual therapy to determine appropriateness of a short-term modality for students with serious psychological concerns. Assess for suicidal ideation and provide appropriate crisis intervention services. Conduct culturally appropriate therapeutic interventions. Coordinate care with Student Health and provide on and off campus referrals as needed. Provide consultation to staff, faculty, and students as requested. Develop and deliver psychoeducational programs to address the cultural and mental health needs of underrepresented populations. Psychologists are expected to participate in campus organizations which have a demonstrated commitment to diversity and cultural issues. Be able to approach clinical service provision from a cultural perspective. Train and supervise staff, interns, practicum students, or peers as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA accredited doctoral program

 • License to practice psychology in the State of California or eligible within 6 months.

• Thorough knowledge of diagnostic/psychological testing methodologies •

 • Responsibilities Psychologists will provide individual therapy to determine appropriateness of a short-term modality for students with serious psychological concerns.

• Ability to work in a highly collaborative manner with a diverse client group, members of the medical staff, and faculty.

• Knowledge of electronic/medical records systems.

• Demonstrated ability to provide culturally appropriate therapeutic interventions

• Demonstrated commitment to the highest ethical standards of professional practice, as well as personal and professional integrity.

• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and to collaborate with other departments and college administrators.

 • Excellent organizational, communication, and human relations skills

Desired Qualifications:

• Demonstrated knowledge of psychology, community, and culture and/or experience providing counseling to communities with intersectional / interlocking identities including but not limited to Latino/Latina, Asian, Asian Pacific Islander, African American, Middle Eastern, International, and LGBTQIA+

• Experience or interest in working with Grad students

 • Experience or interest in working with student Athletes

 • Experience or interest in working with students that present with issues related to complex trauma

• Experience working in a university counseling center

 •Experience with crisis intervention and/or coordination

• Experience and interest in clinical supervision and training
