This is a veterinary assistant or veterinary technician for the Equine and Farm Animal Vet Center. Responsibilities include emergency workup and hourly treatments, including but not limited to catheter placement, venipuncture, nasogastric tube placement, drug calculations, controlled drug monitoring, patient monitoring, medical documentation, and sample submission. Veterinary technical skills. Ability to work around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, gas anesthetics, zoonotic disease, and unpleasant odors. Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education:
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively at all times and maintain professionalism in emotionally charged situations.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work effectively as a team member, work effectively with computers and software navigation, and work independently.
