Positions are available at the Union campus as well as Kean Ocean, Kean Skylands and other locations where indicated.
School of Health and Human Performance
Exercise Science - to teach Physiology of Exercise; Physiology of Exercise Lab; Exercise Testing and Interpretation; Principles of Personal and Group Training; Wellness; Prescriptive Exercise; Statistics in Exercise Science; and Thesis in Exercise Science. Candidates must have a Bachelor's and Master's in Kinesiology or Exercise Science/Physiology; current NCCA-accredited certification (examples include: ACSM, NASM, ACE, NCSF, NSCA); and at least 5 years of experience in personal/group training or strength and conditioning or cardiac rehabilitation. Courses are to be taught in-person at the Union and Ocean campuses.
Physical Education: Teacher Certification - to teach Coaching and Officiating of Football. In addition to a Master’s degree in a related field, candidates must have experience coaching and/or officiating interscholastic football. Membership in NJSIAA is preferred but not required. Courses are to be taught in-person at the Ocean campus.
Health Education- to teach Emergency Medical Responder; First Aid, Disaster Preparedness, CPR/AED; First Aid Instructor; and Introduction to Principles of Emergency Management. In addition to a Master’s degree in a related field, candidates must be NREMT Paramedic or State of New Jersey Certified Paramedic; have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Emergency Medical Services (EMS); AHA BLS Instructor; ECSI Instructor.
Classes begin September 1, 2021. All positions require a Master’s degree in a related field and teaching experience unless otherwise indicated; candidates with an ABD, Ed.D., Ph.D. or other acceptable disciplinary doctorate are encouraged to apply. Proficiency in Blackboard and Online Learning Pedagogy is required of all adjuncts, consistent with University guidelines. Kean may offer free voluntary Blackboard workshops to otherwise qualified applicants.
