Summary

The LIC Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day administrative coordination of the assigned program. Provide administrative management of Colorado Springs Branch  Longitudinal Integrated Curriculum (LIC) activities including but not limited to student and faculty scheduling, oversight of timely evaluations and assessments, coordination with administrative staff at University of Colorado School of Medicine, clerical support to the LIC director and department liaisons, availability to receive students’ questions, schedule conflicts, and other needs and to refer to the appropriate individual.

This position is based in Colorado Springs.

Academic Services Professionals are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and students services functions.  Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field.  Work is performed full independently.

Supervisor Received:

Reports to the Colorado Springs Branch LIC Director, with a dotted line reporting to the University of Colorado School of Medicine (CUSOM) Office of Medical Education Curriculum Manager.  This position requires a large degree of independent action.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Complex student and faculty scheduling for clinical experiences requiring daily and monthly coordination and distribution of schedules; continuous updates and communication with faculty and students as conflicts and changes arise.
  2. Assisting LIC director and other faculty in planning the year-long schedule of students’ ambulatory clinical placements, inpatient experiences, on-call experiences, didactics, and assessments.
  3. Coordination of the didactic schedules including scheduling of speakers, coordination of logistics, collection and compilation of student evaluations.
  4. Scheduling and coordination of learning experiences for students required at the University (didactics, workshops, simulation exercises, etc.).
  5. Scheduling and proctoring of standardized exams.
  6. Managing LIC Canvas website including updating course materials and coordination of online quizzes and exams.
  7. Coordinating regular mid-block student meetings with LIC faculty including creation of reports summarizing student performance in all clinical realms at multiple points during the year. Creation of final grading forms for each LIC course.
  8. Liaison to administrative staff at University of Colorado School of Medicine and within each department.
  9. Clerical support to the LIC director and department liaisons.
  10. Organization of student activities at the clinical sites including call rooms, scrub access, IT access and badging, parking, pagers, etc.
  11. Development and maintenance of a tracking system for student requirements, assessments and grades in multiple courses.
  12. Maintenance of shared folders and other website materials.
  13. Coordinating distribution of student assessments throughout the year and assisting students and faculty with use of the online evaluation system.  Track completion of required evaluations for a large number of community faculty. 
  14. Coordinate final grading meetings with CSB and main campus leadership and liaise with university registrar for grade entry. 
  15. Identifies problems, develops solutions for problems and presents the issues and solutions to LIC director.
Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position has been established at $50,000

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree is required.  A combination of work experience in the occupational field or specialized subject area of the work assigned to the job, may substitute for the degree on a year for by year basis.

  1. Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, education technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a related field from an accredited institution and 2 years of professional level experience is required
  2. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree:
  3. Associate’s degree and three years’ relevant work experience required.
  4. High school diploma/GED and six years’ relevant work experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within an academic medical environment.
  • Experience working with learning management systems (i.e. Canvas, Elentra,  MyClinicalExchange).
  • Experience with curriculum management and coordination.
  • Experience developing spreadsheets and databases for reporting and tracking purposesExperience developing letters and complex correspondence on behalf of a manager, director, administrator, assistant deans etc.
  • Relevant work experience: coordinating and managing education programs, preferably in the medical field.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint
  • Ability to align multiple, competing demands with established priorities, and enjoy the challenges of change
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and changing educational requirements and regulations
