Applications are being accepted for a full-time Database Administrator, Fond du Lac Campus.  This position is responsible for the operation of the Enterprise Systems major process of the Information Technology Support System subject to the constraints imposed by the Director of Enterprise Systems, MPTC District Board policy, State Board rules, law and professional ethical behavior. 



Beginning: Immediately

Responsibilities1. Provide enterprise-wide administration and production support for College databases to include installation, testing, configuration, monitoring, performance tuning and security in alignment with College protocol and procedures. Responsible for the performance, integrity and security of College databases.2. Plan and develop College databases and data architecture to include identifying database requirements via user interviews. Analyze department applications, programming, and operations, evaluate existing systems and design proposed systems.3. Recommend technical solutions by defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, query efficiency, database security, data back-up, and recovery specifications.4. Install revised or new systems by proposing specifications and flowcharts, recommending optimum access techniques and coordinating installation requirements.  Assist Enterprise Application Manager in maintenance and installation of enterprise software, including ERP software.5. Maintain and enhance database performance by calculating optimum values for database parameters, implementing new releases, completing maintenance requirements and evaluating computer operating systems and hardware products.6. Support effective data and system management and work with Institutional Research and Reporting to ensure data integrity for compliance.7. Troubleshoot and resolve user problems, respond to user requests and answer user questions.8. Support on-prem and cloud-based database functions by designing and coding utilities.9. Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards as determined by the Information Technology Department.10. Contribute to the College Disaster Recovery plan/team and serve as a member of the recovery team for testing and execution.Qualifications1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Science, Computer Science or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.2. Minimum of five years of application development experience; experience in higher education is preferred.3. Minimum of five years of database design and analysis experience to include data governance and quality assurance experience.4. Extensive knowledge of Oracle and MS SQL databases, methodologies and configuration. 5. Extensive knowledge of hierarchical and relational database management systems administration.6. Knowledge of cloud-based data systems; experience in Azure data platforms preferred.7. Extensive knowledge of structured systems analysis and design with special emphasis in systems administration, data integrity and data gathering techniques.8. Ability to read, analyze and interpret user requirements and technical documentation.9. Ability to diagnose and resolve highly complex issues associated with the application development and database environments.10. Ability to work effectively in a team-based, highly participative environment to include leading cross-functional groups and project teams.11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work with all levels of internal and external customers.12. Strong ability to effectively plan, prioritize, multi-task and problem solve.13. Schedule flexibility to work in a 24x7 multi-site environment oriented toward a zero downtime goal.14.
