Web Developer III
Works in concert with UF Human Resources and CFO management teams to establish and coordinate a positive digital communications agenda that targets UF employees and the general public, as needed. Designs, develops and revises websites and provides digital guidance for electronic communications campaigns, including newsletters and social media. This includes the maintenance and creation of websites, technical consultation on the implementation of new digital communications channels, Client Relationship Management software and emerging platforms as they arise.
The successful candidate for this position will have a demonstrated ability to develop communication strategies—using electronic media—that target a broad, diverse audience. He or she also will possess an understanding of best practices in digital content development, information technology architecture, site design, search engine optimization, web accessibility standards and web analytics as well as strong customer service and consensus building skills. Experience in producing and updating content for the web as well as other forms of electronic communications. Experience managing and maintaining content management systems such as WordPress, along with modern web technologies, such as React and NodeJS. Design experience for electronic media.
- Supports information/public relations campaigns and strategies as needed to enhance the dissemination of HR and administrative information and the way in which it is received by target audience(s). Responsible for anticipating the need for and recommending digital communications solutions as well as completing projects as assigned. Supports institutional change management efforts as needed.
- Responsible for strategically analyzing user needs for UF administrative websites as well as developing content. Using WordPress and/or Terminal 4, responsible for establishing and applying design standards for Human Resources’ and other administrative websites, including regular updates to enhance “readability” and to reflect current events.
- Designs, builds, and/or maintains websites and web applications, resolves conflicts, develops functional criteria and chooses appropriate solutions. Identifies problems uncovered by testing or customer feedback and corrects problems or refers them to appropriate personnel for correction.
- Maintains understanding of current web technologies. Ensures that code is valid, properly structured, secure and meets industry standards. Develops or validates test routines and schedules to ensure test cases mimic external interfaces and address browser and device types. Develop metrics and analytics to determine technical requirements and success of digital projects.
$60,000; commensurate with experience
Master’s Degree and three years of appropriate experience or Bachelor’s degree and five years’ experience in web development.
Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of content development, information technology and architecture, website design, SEO and analytics. Beyond a technical ability related to electronic communications and website management (using WordPress and TerminalFOUR) as well as written and oral communication skills, this position demands a firm commitment to customer service and the ability to manage a wide range of processes.Special Instructions to Applicants:
