Nephrology academic faculty position in New Orleans, LA
Tulane University School of Medicine’s Tulane Transplant Institute is currently seeking candidates for a Nephrology clinical faculty position with minimum of 3 year-experience after transplant nephrology fellowship training. A successful candidate may assume the role of medical director of the kidney and pancreas transplantation program. The medical director of transplant program shall report to the director of Tulane Transplant Institute in clinical aspect and have an academic appointment with Department of Medicine. Faculty rank and compensation will commensurate with experience and qualification of candidates.
Responsibilities will include participation in both the academic and research missions of the Tulane Transplant Institute. The Institute oversees inpatient services that includes care of acute and chronic kidney disease, provision of dialysis services, fluid and electrolyte problems, and kidney and pancreas transplant. The outpatient services include evaluation and management of, transplant patients and their associated medical conditions. Administrative and educational responsibilities shall include overseeing transplant waiting list management, and maintaining compliance of the transplant program. The candidate is expected to have strong research interests. The physician will participate in the teaching and clinical programs of the Residents, Fellows, and medical students. The candidate will have on-call coverage on a rotating basis. The physician will attend on the inpatient services along with the Fellows.Qualifications:
Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Candidates should have satisfactorily completed a training program in general nephrology accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and transplant nephrology accredited by American Society of Transplantation (AST), and be board certified and eligible for licensure in Louisiana. Candidates should have the academic experience to meet the relevant academic appointment level. Application Instructions:
