The Graduate Student Academic and Career Advisor for the School of Medicine Biomedical Sciences Graduate (BMS) Program shall provide guidance, consultation, and expertise related to academic and career advising for students working toward their doctorate and master level degrees.They will oversee general counseling and wellness for this student population.They will work with the Office of Multicultural Affairs to ensure that BMS strives for diversity and inclusion in recruitment and retention of students.They will work with all students to address issues and ensure a quality educational environment for learning.The Advisor will closely collaborate with the BMS Directors and stafff or cross coverage for all duties as needed in this highly team-based program office.
- Master’s degree in education, counseling, or similar/related field and 5 years’ experience working with students as an academic advisor or career coach
- PhD in similar field or STEM and 2 year’s counseling or related experience
- Experience in a School of Medicine or other Professional School setting
