Summary of Duties:

Washington State University College of Nursing is currently recruiting for a dynamic, creative nurse with a Master’s, DNP, or Ph.D. degree to work as a Teaching Assistant Professor in the nursing program on the Tri‐Cities campus. The College of Nursing is seeking candidates with clinical experience in Acute Care, Long‐Term Care, Pediatrics, Mother/Baby, or Psychiatric/Mental Health to fill one (1) vacant position. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the service and research missions of the College of Nursing.

This teaching assistant professor position is a 9‐month, temporary, non‐tenure track appointment made initially for one year. The position is available for the start of the Fall 2021 semester, to begin August 16, 2021 and ends May 15, 2022. Salary is commensurate with training and experience.


Required Qualifications:

  • Earned Master's, DNP, Ph.D., or Ed.D. degree in Nursing or related field

  • Licensed or eligible for license as a registered nurse in the State of Washington


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Record of teaching experience

  • Experience with mentoring and advising

  • FNP, PMHNP, ACGNP, or other advanced practice nursing background

Associate Vice Provost for Inclusive Excellence Recently Announced

Dr. Lisa Guerrero was recently named associate vice provost for inclusive excellence. Guerrero has been an active advocate for diversity and inclusion since joining the WSU faculty in 2004. She is currently a professor of Comparative Ethnic Studies in WSU’s School of Languages, Cultures, and Race. She will maintain her faculty position, while serving as associate vice provost in a half-time appointment.

Dr. Guerrero will provide leadership to academic affairs in implementing WSU’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. She will help to identify and implement best practices and evidence-based approaches in faculty hiring, tenure and promotion, research support, faculty retention, teaching and mentoring, and curriculum planning. One of her first areas of responsibility will be to oversee the Racism and Social Inequality in the Americas faculty cluster hire program for Fall 2021.
