Job Description
The University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON) is recruiting for a full-time contractual Administrative Assistant. This position provides administrative support to a program. This position will report to the Grant Project Directors and serves as a liaison with hospital-based educators and prospective and admitted students participating in this funded grant. 

This is a contractual position. UMB offers a generous benefits package that includes 10 vacation days, 11 personal and holidays, 5 sick days; comprehensive health insurance and supplemental retirement options; and limited tuition remission for employees enrolled at UMB.

In the Fall of 2021, UMB will require all faculty, staff, and students to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Exemptions for medical or religious reasons will be processed through Human Resources.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Requires knowledge and skill working with issues related to academic policies, procedures, and confidential matters and involves participating in the work of the grant project directors. Provides document and survey preparation and data analysis, ensuring documentation is complete. Coordinates meetings and travel arrangements. Tracks and monitors grant data requirements. Assist with the development of marketing materials and communications; use of digital graphics for posters and presentations, and development and use of spreadsheets, database and presentation programs. Coordinates administrative processes. Edits, formats, revises a variety of documents and materials used by others.  Proofreads for grammatical, typographical, and basic content errors. Compiles, updates, and maintains all records related to assigned administrative processes. Serves as a liaison between students, residents, or faculty and department staff. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED.

EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of experience providing administrative support.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: General knowledge of and skill in the practical application of generally accepted office practices and procedures. Ability to communicate effective both orally and in writing. Ability to proofread and edit written documents. Skill in various computer software packages, such as word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation programs, Internet, email and calendaring software. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to interact effectively with internal and external parties in a courteous and efficient manner. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments with general instructions.

OTHER: Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.

Based on the duties of this position, selected candidates are eligible to participate in the Bargaining Unit (Union).

SALARY RANGE: $39,100 - $45,000
