Applicants should have a PhD degree (or expect to receive a PhD degree by September 1, 2021) in Psychology or allied fields (e.g., Education, Sociology) with an interest in conducting research relevant to racial bias and inequality. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will work with Dr. Stacey Sinclair on an on-going research project that involves using nationwide data to examine the association between collective-level racial bias and racial achievement gaps. Responsibilities will include activities such as working with large public datasets (including using web APIs), using multilevel regression and post stratification, running advanced statistical models for analyzing cross-sectional and longitudinal data (e.g., Bayesian multilevel models, casual inference methods such as cross-lagged panel models), visualizing data and results, writing manuscripts, presenting research, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate researchers in the group. To learn more about the research, please refer to this paper: https://www.pnas.org/content/pnas/116/17/8255.full.pdf . The position is offered for 1 year, with the possibility of renewal, contingent upon funding and satisfactory performance. In addition to the aforementioned project, the appointee will have opportunities to develop additional projects with members of Dr. Sinclair's lab and/or maintain their on-going work. The position will start on or around October 1, 2021. This position is subject to the University's background check policy. Salary will be in accordance with NIH guidelines.
