Job Overview

The Fellow will work in a Center or Institute under the supervision of the Executive Director. The Fellow is responsible for conducting research, writing research memos and other reports, helping to organize convenings and conferences, and otherwise assisting the operational and administrative functions of the assigned Center or Institute. Generally, the Fellow will:
  • Work with the Executive Director, faculty members, and staff to conduct research projects, including legal and policy research on issues relevant to technology law and policy. Projects will involve legal and policy writing and presentations, as well as participation in related conferences and events.
  • Support the Institute with the organization of externally and internally facing meetings of varying sizes. This will involve coordination of content and programs with participants and external partners, development of messaging, and overseeing planning and logistics.
  • Contribute content to the Center or Institute's website and printed materials describing the Fellow's projects and related work.
  • Other projects as assigned.

Work Interactions

The Fellow reports directly to the Executive Director of the assigned Center or Institute. The Fellow will have interaction with students, faculty and support offices on the Law Center's campus, in addition to external partners and stakeholders.

Requirements and Qualifications

The position is open to individuals with a United States law degree. Relevant coursework or other experience in technology law and/or policy preferred.

Other skills: Excellent research and legal writing skills required. Ability to operate professionally in interactions with academic and other stakeholders required. Ability to work well as part of a small team and supervise student work in a professional manner also required.
