Position Description:
Responsible for managing all academic and staff personnel actions in the Humanities Administrative Group (HAG), which is comprised of the following departments and programs: Comparative Literature; Near Eastern Languages and Cultures; Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Languages and Cultures; Study of Religion IDP; Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Queer Studies IDP; and Pourdavoud Center for the Study of the Iranian World. The HAG is the largest administrative groups in the Humanities Division with approximately 35 temporary faculty/lecturers/adjunct faculty, 45 ladder rank faculty, 10 career staff, and 2 contract staff. This position is responsible for managing the academic personnel process for ladder rank faculty, adjunct, visiting faculty, and lecturer reappointment/merits/promotions; using Opus, Interfolio, UC Recruit and UCPath to accomplish faculty and staff personnel actions including summer ninths, stipends, merits, promotions, leaves, and new hires; serving as primary benefits representative; and overseeing faculty hiring and search process. Also responsible for managing the visiting scholar and postdoctoral fellow application process and using QDB/Excel spreadsheets to track sub zero expenses, reconcile payroll ledgers, and prepare reports for the CAO and Senior Fund Manager, as needed. Supervise Analyst in execution of ASE appointments and payroll. Participate in special projects as assigned by CAO and Chairs.
