The Kennesaw State University Library System is now accepting applications for an open rank, twelve-month, non-tenure track faculty position beginning December 1, 2021. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience.
The position is under the general supervision of the Director of Research & Instructional Services and part of the Research & Scholarship Team. A focus of the position will be delivering services to the students and faculty of the Coles College of Business. The college offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in many business areas including a PhD in Business Administration.
Because a number of classes take place on weekends or during the evenings, the position will occasionally be required to work during these times to serve the needs of the students. Although based primarily at the Kennesaw campus, this person may need to work at the Marietta campus or other affiliated locations. Responsibilities
Librarianship duties include (80%):
Provide instruction in research and information literacy for both face-to-face and online classes Foster relationships with faculty to incorporate library instruction into courses in multifaceted ways Develop and maintain LibGuides and/or other digital or physical instructional materials to support subject disciplines and individual courses Work with students to develop advanced level library research skills including collecting, organizing, and analyzing sources Provide research assistance and reference services to students and faculty.
Engage in KSU Library System service, KSU University service, and service to the library profession.
Participate in scholarship, research, and/or creative activity. Contribute to the development of the library profession and/or subject-specific discipline through scholarship, presentations, and publications. Required Qualifications
An earned Master's in Library Science from an American Library Association accredited program, or the foreign equivalent is required Three years experience working as a librarian in an academic library or equivalent experience Excellent instruction, presentation, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications
Experience working as a business subject specialist in a university or special library Demonstrated experience or knowledge working with business related research Knowledge of or experience providing quantitative research support Experience delivering library instruction A record of professional service A record of developing scholarship within academic librarianship or subject specialty Proposed Salary
$47,500-$60,000 commensurate with experience Required Documents to Attach
