Accounting Clerk, Parking and Transit Services

Regular, Full-time - MR04

The Accounting Clerk will ensure that the tickets and money collected from Circle Park cashiers are properly counted and deposited on IRIS, UTK’s accounting and financial record system. This position will provide support and maintain the duties of other bookkeeping areas when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Count tickets collected by Vol Hall cashiers and make sure they balance with journal transactions.
  • Count money collected by Vol Hall Garage and Circle Park cashiers to make sure they balance with tickets and journal transactions. Identify discrepancies and notify proper supervisor.
  • Balance all reports combined, prepare deposits to send to the bank, record deposits onto IRIS.
  • Post daily departmental billings for garage parking on IRIS interface.
  • Verify and log daily petty cash and prepare Vol Hall Garage and Circle Park for daily work.
  • On Football games and Basketball games I help control lot entrances for University Donors along with working in the office on assigned days to accommodate customers with towed cars

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; Driver License required.

Knowledge in accounting principles; Cash handling experience

Skills needed to perform assigned duties: Accuracy in numbers; organizational and problem-solving abilities, computer literate, IRIS literate.

Preferred Qualifications:

Vocational training; 5 years in an accounting office
