Qualifications

Requirements:• M.A. in Japanese or related field. • Demonstrate ability to teach beginning and intermediate level Japanese language courses face to face.• Native or near-native command of both Japanese and English. • Minimum two years teaching experience at higher education level in Japanese.

Responsibilities

• Teach one Japanese course fall 2021, hold office hours, and support college policies and procedures.• Be available to teach in person 1 50-minute class MWF 12-12:50 pm.• Faculty are expected to demonstrate the following characteristics:o Commitment to student retention and success.o Commitment to development and assessment of student learning.o Use of technology and innovative approaches to enhance teaching and learning.o Willingness to support a diverse population of learners inside and outside the classroom.o Ability to work in a participatory and collegial setting.
