Job Description:


POSITION: Full-Time Director of Recruitment/Admissions: Director; Student Affairs; 37.5 hours per week; Non-Unit Professional Position; Haverhill and Lawrence Campus


Summary: Northern Essex Community College is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to assume the Director of Recruitment/Admissions position. The Director has primary responsibility for recruitment and admissions; leading the team; managing the day-to-day operations on both campuses; providing strong leadership in advancing admissions strategies designed to meet the recruitment, outreach and enrollment goals of the College. The Director brings to this position a deep understanding of and appreciation for the role that community college plays in the higher education setting; knowledge of changing student demographics, and expertise in recognizing enrollment trends.


RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Dean of Enrollment Services the successful candidate will:


  • Annually develop a comprehensive plan for admissions recruitment and yield initiatives and for implementing a 24-month recruitment calendar. Including measuring the success and impact of recruitment initiatives
  • Identifies enrollment trends and goals in conjunction with other departments (Academic Affairs, Institutional Effectiveness, and Senior Leadership Team/President's Cabinet etc.).
  • Examines trends and goals by program of study, geographic region, and age and for a variety of other targeted sub-populations and utilizes data to inform enrollment and revenue projections and support Academic Affairs in program offering decisions
  • Administer and direct outreach and recruitment efforts aimed at prospective students including, first-time freshman, transfer students, parents, counselors and related partnership programs
  • Responsible for enrollment communication strategy for continuing students in partnership with our academic center and student success hub advising.
  • Focus on continuous improvement in terms of operational efficiencies with all Admissions related functions, processes and tasks
  • Continuously update and execute a comprehensive segmented admissions marketing communications plan
  • Works with other managers in Enrollment Services to ensure seamless onboarding of new students - Onboarding pathway to include recruitment, admissions, placement testing, financial aid application or payment, first time advising and registration, new student orientation
  • Serves as the primary liaison and collaborates with marketing and public relations on the development of print and electronic material, which supports recruitment and admission
  • Supervises team members located on each campus to ensure timely, accurate and efficient development and execution of recruitment efforts, creating performance goals and metrics, and oversees training while identifying and supporting professional development opportunities for staff
  • Serve as a hands-on working member of the team, who can perform their staff's duties, when needed, as well as provide oversight and works non-traditional hours to include nights and weekends
  • Analyzes marketing and enrollment reports to monitor progress towards enrollment goals and makes data driven decisions to ensure enrollment goals are met
  • Responsible for making new community partnerships within the surrounding areas and promote how NECC could benefit these organizations


Requirements:


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Master's degree in Student Affairs/Higher Education Administration or related field required.
  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in undergraduate admissions with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding goals
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, motivate, and supervise staff
  • Experience in the development of comprehensive recruitment and enrollment plans
  • Proficient with technology and its implementation into an effective recruitment plan
  • Solid experience and comprehensive knowledge related to the role of marketing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively, and in a collegial and professional manner, with students, faculty, staff, internal and external constituents
  • Ability to present dynamically to groups of prospective students and their families
  • Sensitivity to cultural diversity and ability to interact effectively with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Experience in community colleges, particularly the Massachusetts system.
  • Bilingual or Bicultural (Spanish and English)
  • Experience working with and supporting a culturally diverse, population in a Hispanic-Serving Institution.
  • Solid technical working knowledge of Ellucian Banner Student Information Management software system, EAB Navigate and ARGOS reporting software strongly preferred


Additional Information:


SALARY: Anticipated salary range is $70,000.00 - $82,000.00 annually with complete fringe benefit package including competitive health insurance, dental insurance, basic life insurance, long-term disability insurance, paid sick, vacation and personal leave, educational benefits for employee/spouse/dependents, and excellent retirement benefits.
