Job Summary:

Assist faculty or other instructional staff by performing teaching or teaching-related duties such as preparing and developing teaching materials, preparing and giving examinations, grading examinations or papers, and classroom setup.

Job Description:

  • Cut out and prepare samples for class to sew - need to know how to cut out a pattern.

  • Print copies of worksheets for each lesson.

  • Set-up and take-down classroom after every class (move tables/chairs, ironing boards, etc.).

  • Run weekly lab hours independently - need to be able to answer most basic sewing questions.

  • Assist students who need help with projects.

  • Update PowerPoint for fashion show.

  • Assist with fashion show.

  • Assist with field trip to fabric store (once a semester).

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

Typical classroom environment.


Candidate must possess the following skills:

  • Minimum intermediate level sewing skills

  • Patient with new learners

  • Able to work independently on given tasks

  • Able to answer a variety of basic sewing questions

  • Driver's license preferred (possible driver for field trip)
