Position Summary:

The faculty will be responsible for providing educational leadership, student instruction, and advisement in the Building Construction Technology Department.

*Bachelor’s Degree in Construction-related discipline and/or Workforce Education, or the ability to complete such in 3 years. (Minimum)*Master’s Degree in Construction-related discipline and/or Workforce Education. (Desired)*Evidence of continuing education and the pursuit of trade related certifications. (Desired)


*Six (6) years’ work experience in hands-on construction, estimating and/or management in residential and/or commercial construction, with progressively increasing responsibilities. (Minimum)*Proficiency with software commonly used in residential construction areas. (Desired)*Teaching experience at the secondary or postsecondary level. (Desired)

Responsibilities and Duties :

-Instruct and evaluate student performance in the associate and bachelor degree programs in Building Construction Technology and Residential Construction Technology & Management. (Essential)-Teach theory and lab courses on residential building methods and management. (Essential)-Provide coordination and supervision for instructional field projects. (Essential)-Advise, schedule, and maintain accurate records on students. (Essential)-Maintain office hours according to contractual guidelines. (Essential)-Write and update course syllabi; assist with curriculum review, revision, and development. (Essential)-Assume responsibility for laboratory development, coordination, and maintenance. (Essential)-Engage in professional development and technological upgrading activities. (Essential)-Contribute to the betterment of the College through school committee participation. (Essential)-Contribute to the betterment of the College through College-wide committee participation. (Marginal)-Assist with the development of grant proposals and follow up activities. (Marginal)-Attend College, School, and Department meetings as scheduled. (Essential)-Assist in providing tours and student recruitment activities scheduled by the College, School, and/or department. (Essential)-Collect, maintain, analyze and write student outcomes assessment data for use within the department and School. (Essential)


*Requisite tools of the trade

Physical Standards:

*Some lifting not to exceed 40 lbs. will be required.*Some work from ladders and scaffolds may be required.

As such, are required to use the following elements of the Learning Management System (LMS): Upload all syllabi, timely use of the grade feature, and collection of digital student work and distribution of digital course materials.

Pay Rate / Salary:

Commensurate with credentials submitted as applied to the College’s Faculty Salary System. As a point of reference, the salary range for new full-time faculty hired in various disciplines throughout the College for the 2020/21 academic year is $56,586 – $74,316.

Additional Information:

The wages, hours, and terms and conditions of employment for full-time teaching faculty, counselors and librarians (all regular College funded positions and certain grant/contract funded positions) are determined by the negotiated Agreement between Pennsylvania College of Technology and the Penn College Education Association. Federal law requires all employers to verify the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires and the completion of an Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I-9) by the candidate and the employer. Any offer of employment shall be contingent on the applicant’s timely production of required documentation to verify identity and employment authorization. If you are currently receiving an annuity from the State or Public School Employees’ Retirement System, employment at Pennsylvania College of Technology may affect your annuity status.
