The Hope Center for College, Community and Justice, at Temple University is seeking a Graphic Designer to join our growing team. The Hope Center seeks a graphic designer who is passionate about addressing structural inequality and racial disparities and committed to joining a team that gets into what John Lewis called “good trouble” on a regular basis.

The graphic designer will report to the Manager of Marketing to support The Hope Center Communications Team’s goals for marketing, development, public relations, and policy analysis projects to promote a comprehensive understanding of the higher education policy and the legislative landscape. The designer will work with the Manager of Marketing on the development, management, and advancement of The Hope Center’s mission, agenda and challenges affecting students. The position chiefly will involve a mix of designing print and digital materials, proofreading, data visualization and review, and assistance with key visual projects.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of directly related experience. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in graphic design or a related field. Proficiency in producing graphics for marketing and communications projects. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 

Required Skills & Abilities:

*Knowledge of national higher education policy

*Production of visuals for general audiences

*Strong data visualization skills

*Ability to coordinate, manage, and be accountable for multiple tasks

*Ability to work in fast-paced environment and multi-task

*Ability to work with individuals across a wide range of expertise (e.g., faculty, researchers, *Executive Assistants, undergraduate students)

*Strong attention to detail

*Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

*Maturity, professionalism and poise and excellent judgment

*Open to feedback and professional development

*Capable of “managing up” to ensure deadlines are met.

*Integrity; respect for confidential information

*Excellent skills in InDesign, Canva and other visual and creative platforms

*Experience with WordPress and content management systems

*Experience with Slack or other electronic communications system, preferred.

Preferred:

*Master’s degree

This is a grant-funded position.

Please note this position will temporarily work remotely, the duration of remote work will be at the discretion of Temple University and the department.
