Position Summary

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) invites applications from outstanding candidates for a fixed term research associate position in the areas of machine learning and natural language processing. The successful candidate will be supervised by Dr. Kordjamshidi. The duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Development of structured learning models, and techniques for integration of domain knowledge in learning
  • Application to Natural language processing and combining vision and language modalities,
  • Developing reusable software modules based on their research work that is usable by other researchers in the team and beyond for reproducing the results or further development

Required Degree

Doctorate -Computer Science or closely related field

Minimum Requirements
  • Applicants must have a PhD in Computer Science or closely related discipline
  • Experience in machine learning and natural language processing
  • Strong programming skills and interest in software development
  • Publication record with peer-reviewed publication
  • Ability to handle deadlines
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
Desired Qualifications
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience in software development
  • Prior experience in structured machine learning and optimization
  • Ability to work with graduate students, faculty, and staff in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English
