Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

In alignment with the mission, programs and initiatives of MSU Extension, delivers research-based information to program participants through various methods and/or provides support and coordination of MSU Extension programs.

Unit Position Summary

This position will coordinate livestock care at MSU Tollgate Farm and Education Center in Novi, MI and be responsible for overall animal well-being. Coordinating and executing chores, managing diets, coordinating a breeding program, manage medical care, supporting hay production, marketing and processing livestock for consumption, and other duties as assigned will be a part of the day to day tasks. Additionally, this position contributes to 4-H, summer camp, school programming, and special events taking place at the site. This will take the form of leading youth livestock workshops, supporting school programs, leading summer day camps, and contributing to special events.

Position Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call.
