  • Email Me Similar JobsEmail Me This JobThe position will be teaching: BIO 100 Intro to Cell and Molecular Biology Day(s) and Hours: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 3-4:50 pm.

    The class begins the week of August 21 and goes through December 10th.

    Course Description: This foundational course explores the organization of living things from the molecular and cellular levels. Topics include the chemistry of biological molecules, cell structure and replication, energy flow, genetics, and current applications in biotechnology. The laboratory emphasizes data collection and analysis using relevant model systems.

    Minimum Requirement and qualifications:

    • Ph.D. in biological sciences preferred, Masters and/or extensive industry experience considered
    • Ability to teach the course themes including molecular biology, cellular biology, basic biochemistry.
    • Must incorporate student-centered active learning in classroom and laboratory settings.
    • The instructor will teach the lecture and the lab portion including some or all laboratory preparation and clean up.
    • Prior teaching or presentation experience is desirable.
    • Evidence of experience in the field is beneficial.Ability to teach the class from start to finish with college-level studentsAbility to design and administer assessments to measure student learning.Ability to challenge students in critical and creative thinking.Ability to advance students' communication skills through course format
