General Summary

The Psychology Department invites applications for possible part-time positions teaching psychology courses for Fall 2021. Potential courses include General Psychology Lecture (PSY 101), Quantitative Methods in Psychology (PSY 205), Introduction to Experimental Psychology (PSY 301W) – writing intensive, Abnormal Psychology (PSY 360), Fundamentals of Applied Behavior Analysis (PSY 365), and Physiological Psychology (PSY 457). Most of these classes involve face-to-face instruction or face-to-face with online asynchronous except for PSY 457 which is online synchronous and online asynchronous.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Teaching may include a number of particular obligations which employees are expected to fulfill, including but not limited to: prepare and instruct assigned course to meet overall course objectives and program goals; establish and maintain an environment conducive to student learning; meeting with students during and outside of assigned classes, assessing student work and performance, preparing syllabi and course materials, providing copies of syllabi, course materials, and collect and provide program assessment data to their supervisor on request, coordinate efforts with other instructors, and assigning and submitting grades in accordance with established Eastern Michigan University policies and procedures. Perform related duties as required.

Qualifications

A minimum of a Master’s degree completed in psychology (ABD acceptable) or a related field but a doctorate preferred. Teaching experience is preferred, but not required.
