Responsibilities The Residency Program Coordinator provides specialized administrative support for the Department of Family Medicine's Residency Training Program. The RPC is required to work independently to oversee day-to-day administrative activity of the FM Residency Program. Financial responsibilities include management and monitoring of the Residency budget including a special budgetary allocation from the Georgia Board of Physician Workforce. He /she will assure compliance and guidelines are met or exceeded required of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) standards, Residency Review Committee (RCC) standards, and the American Osteopathic Associate (AOA) standards. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Oversight of the annual recruitment of Family Medicine interns and other residents at different post-graduate levels. As vacancies occur, participate in interviewing and selection efforts.
  • Coordinate the design and maintain Family Medicine Residency Database to include tables, queries, and reports.
  • ACGME Site visits, RRC requirements and AOA Site visits
  • Oversight of Resident's Non-Clinical activities
  • Oversight of Resident's Clinical Actinvities
  • Support National Organizations pertinent to residency training - AACOM, AAFP, ABFP, ACGME, AMA, AOA
  • Oversight of orientation of all new residents and interns assigned to the Department of Family Medicine's Residency Program
  • Collaboration with all other Residency Programs at other institutions, as well as Augusta University/MCG
  • Supports Program Director and associates by independently performing administrative functions
  • Supports Family Medicine Administration as it relates to the Residency Program
  • Supports Family Medicine Research Director as duties related to the Residency Program
  • Supports Augusta University/MCG, Department of Family Medicine with administration special projects
  • General Management
  • Perform all othe related duties as assigned
