  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
Preferred
    Master's degree from an accredited college or university in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Counseling, or a directly related field of study with experience in community living and leadership development
  • Knowledge of how to plan and organize events for students
Responsibilities The Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) role is an integral component to the success of the Residence Life program for the Housing and Residence Life department at Augusta University. The Residence Life Coordinator is responsible for creating a community where learning and community involvement are honored. He/she will facilitate a community that contributes to the intellectual, social, and cultural development of both students and staff. Additionally, the RLC provides leadership for the daily operations management of the facility in order to provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for all. The RLC role is one of the leadership, trust and honor, and contributes significantly to the personal growth and development of his/her staff members and residents. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    Student Development EducatorCommunicates students' rights and responsibilities and assists students in developing skills to address intepersonal conflictsServes as student conduct hearing officerCoordinates community service or community engagement activities in his/her hall or complexFosters an environment in the hall or complex that encourages the acceptance of a diverse student populations and fosters dialogue between and among othersMentors student staff and residents living in communityAdvises hall/complex government and attends weekly organization meetingsDevelops student leaders at the hall or complex level through promotion of hall or complex government organizationsRecruits and trains students for hall leadership positionsServes in Residence Life Coordinator on call duty rotation working directly with the crisis protocol and response system for RA and Coordinator levelEstablishes an intellectual environment in the hall or complex which supports and rewards academic successAssists in the coordination of Living Learning Communities specific to his/her building as assignedWorks collaboratively with faculty and academic partners through academic initiatives in the hall
Supervision/ManagerialSupervises a hall or complex staff of Resident AssistantsSupervises hall or complex front desk operationsParticipates in staff recruitment and selection processes as assignedProvides leadership to staff by communicating, interpreting and administrating residence hall and University policies and proceduresMaintains visibility in the hall through office hours, regular floow visits, and attendance at staff and student programsMaintains a working knowledge of an collaborates with campus departments and community agenciesCompletes evaluations with staff to provide effective feedback on performanceParticipates in the formal and informal evaluation processFollows the progressive discipline procedure with staff when there is a need for corrective action neededProvides ongoing training and development for assigned staffAdministrativeManages a hall programming, supplies and training budgetWorks with facilities staff to ensure building maintenance and capital improvement requests are submittedcoordinates communication and timely transfer of information between hall and Housing and Residence Life main officeParticipates in all safety trainings and collaborates with other campus offices as needed to maintain a high level of building safetyApproves OneUSG for assigned student staffPerforms administrative duties including: budget/spreadsheet management, maintaining records, overseeing check-ins, check-outs and moves; working with facilities, processing work orders and maintaining building/facility specific formsAttends meetnigs as determined by supervisor and other departmental and divisional meetings as requestedPrepares and submits annual and other reports as assignedEnsures Resident Assistant and desk staff have completed all appropriate Human Resources and payroll paperwork before starting their job duties and completes the appropriate termination paperwork when necessaryProfessionalismProvides leadership, mentoring and role modeling for student staff and hall residentsSeeks knowledge and information to develop oneself professionallyAdheres to standard housing and student affaits progessional standards Represents Housing and Residence Life at seminars and conferencesPresents workshops and seminars to staff and studentsMaintains an awareness of student and staff concerns through formal contacts (i.e., office hours, appointments) and informal interactionsAdheres to all Housing and Residence Life policies and procedures
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.
