Job Description

The Admissions Specialist I, under general supervision, provides customer service to students, faculty, and staff through various means of communication. Offers information regarding University services and information including admissions, academics, registration procedures, advising services, residency, transcripts, academic programs, and financial aid.

This is a temporary position expected to start as soon as possible and continue for a period of 2 months from the date of hire.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provides customer service to students, faculty, and staff who phone in and email inquiries.

  • Prepares and maintains database with information sent to prospective students and ensures that follow up contact is made with students who have expressed interest in the University.

  • Maintains database of inbound and outbound call communication results to prospective students regarding applying for admission and registration.

  • Guides, directs, answers questions, and resolves problems of students seeking financial aid program information and forms.

  • Guides and helps students applying for admission, financial aid, and registering via the internet.

  • Works off-campus providing information and distributing forms related to registration.

  • Verifies enrollment status of current and previous students.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • No prior experience required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Other Requirements:
Work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends. Travel required.
