Student Affairs Coordinator, McCourt School of Public Policy - Georgetown University

The McCourt School of Public Policy (MSPP) at Georgetown University is a diverse community of problem-solvers, committed to moving bold ideas to action. We are global citizens, conducting policy-relevant research, and building bridges between our work and the communities we serve.

The Student Affairs Coordinator provides administrative support for curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities at the McCourt School. Reporting to the Associate Director of Student Affairs, they have duties that include but are not limited to:

Student Affairs Support
  • Provide administrative support on a variety of events and initiatives, including commencement, orientation, Foundations, Public Policy Challenge, Student Showcase, and other large-scale student events and activities
  • Support ongoing communication efforts with incoming and current McCourt students, and maintain email databases and track correspondence
  • Support ongoing experiential learning and long-term strategic planning efforts
  • Provide administrative support to student organizations and Assistant Director of Academic & Student Affairs on larger events
  • Coordinate McCourt student-specific opportunities for McCourt with GU Politics
  • Coordinate graduating student giving campaigns in coordination with Advancement office
  • Support student payment, reimbursement and reconciliation process
  • Support hiring process and onboarding of student employees and oversee their timesheet processes (Graduate Assistants, Residence Assistants, Teaching Assistants)
  • Oversee financial award process/Supplier ID set up for student awardees
  • Coordinate Student Affairs swag
  • Oversee supply orders for Student Affairs and student organizations


Administration
  • Oversee Academic and Student Affairs reception area and coordinate McCourt/Old North front desk coverage
  • Answer in-person and phone questions from students, faculty, staff, and guests and direct them to the appropriate office
  • Supervise Graduate Assistants and/or work study students to cover the front desk in the evenings and/or on breaks
  • Oversee Old North student mailboxes and locker assignments
  • Assist Associate Dean of Student Affairs in developing and managing the Student Affair team's budget
  • Order supplies for Student Affairs team
  • Track Student Affairs team telework schedules and office access
  • Handle special projects from McCourt Administration


Faculty/Academic Programs Support
  • Coordinate with Administrative Coordinator on faculty requests - e.g., copying, scanning
  • Provide administrative support to Faculty Directors - e.g., room reservations, meetings
  • Provide administrative support to faculty/staff on undergraduate committees


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 2 years of administrative experience in an office environment - higher education experience preferred
