Job Description Summary:

The position of Director of Annual Giving has primary responsibility for leading and managing all functions of the annual fund program for alumni and friends including all direct mail and electronic solicitations, employee giving, young alumni, student philanthropy, Giving Day, and leadership annual giving programs. Other duties include assisting with alumni events as needed, especially those events geared towards students and young alumni.

Duties and Responsibilities:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Works as part of an integrated management team to establish overall goals and strategies for increasing private support to the University.
Develop and implement a yearly strategy for annual giving and donor retention to the University to include (but not limited to):
Alumni and Friend Campaign
Faculty/Staff Campaign
Student Campaign
Annual Fund Leadership Gift Campaign
Giving Day Campaign
Formulate and execute a communications program (including direct mail, email, social media, and targeted phone calls) to support annual giving.
Develop and execute events (in coordination with the Director of Alumni Relations and Stewardship Coordinator) to support annual giving. These events include, but are not limited to giving day, student philanthropy events and managing the student alumni association and employee giving committee.
Manage an annual giving portfolio, to include face-to-face visits with donors.
Work effectively with the Advancement team to build relationships with alumni and friends to strategically move them along our donor pipeline.
Position requires some travel and a commitment to working some evenings and weekends.

Education and Experience:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree required
Five years of advancement or equivalent experience, particularly in annual giving, preferred.
