The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for the position of Physics Adjunct Instructor for the academic year 2021-2022. The successful candidate will be expected to achieve excellence in teaching and to assist in further development of the Department of Natural Sciences. Adjunct faculty plans classes and implements and evaluates teaching/learning objectives and student learning outcomes. Adjunct faculty undertakes the divisional and professional responsibilities of a part-time faculty member, including office hours. The successful applicant will be expected to provide instruction in General Physics I and II for science majors and the associated laboratories.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred Qualifications:
• A Master’s degree in Physics with outstanding teaching experience in teaching General Physics I and II and the associated labs OR
• A Master’s degree in Science Education with at least 18 graduate hours in Physics with outstanding teaching experience in teaching General Physics I and II and the associated labs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Work Schedule:
• Ph.D. in Physics with significant experience in teaching a variety of Physics courses.
• Successful experience teaching adults in a post-secondary institution
• Excellent communication skills in multicultural settings.
• Experience teaching and developing online courses
• Experience using a variety of teaching technology to deliver course content
