Job Description POSITION OBJECTIVEThe Flora Stone Mather Center is a community space and a social innovator advancing women and gender equity through research-informed action. The Education Coordinator delivers evidence-based educational workshops and trainings. This position will be responsible for recommending and implementing new peer education initiatives for the university that are inclusive of women of color, trans and non-binary, and men-identified communities. Additionally, the coordinator will participate in university committees and support the work of the Associate Director for Research. Building a welcoming and inclusive community is the foundation of the work we do as professionals working with students. Fully including people of diverse backgrounds and perspectives helps us all thrive by working together, focusing on our collective well-being, and helping students gain insight from their academic endeavors and real-world experiences. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Coordinate outreach initiatives including podcast project, “It’s On CWRU” violence prevention campaign as well as passive programming such as tabling during orientation, welcome week, and throughout the academic year. Collaborate with University Marketing and Communications, utilize social media, Wisr Mentoring Software, newsletters, weekly announcements, impact reports, and annual reports to promote the Center’s education initiatives. (20%)Promote, schedule, and assist in delivery evidence-based educational programs for students, staff, and faculty regularly at the Center and across campus by request. Current programs include Bringing in the Bystander and Informed-U. (20%)Research, recommend and assist in the development of new evidence-based education initiatives for students, staff, and faculty at the university that promotes feminist perspectives and gender equity that are inclusive of women of color, trans and non-binary, and men-identified communities. (15%)Assist the Assistant Director of Research with education, evaluation, and outreach aspects of center and university-wide initiatives. (10%)Research, recommend and assist in the development of new peer education initiative. Assist in training and supporting student peer educators. (15%)Collect and analyze assessment on participant learning outcomes, program satisfaction, as well as skills, behaviors, and attitude change. Utilize results to recommend center programs, suggest research initiatives, and prepare annual impact report. (10%)Represent the Center by attending university and community events, serve on designated university and community committees, and may present on work at local, regional, and national conferences. Participate in teambuilding and university professional development opportunities. (10%)
- Ability to plan and successfully administer educational workshops and trainings. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of individuals, including age, race, ethnicity, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, socioeconomic and educational background, and ability.Must be able to maintain a creative, positive and inclusive work environment. Ability to create a welcoming environment marked by respect for others, where differences, inclusiveness, and diversity are valued and encouraged.Demonstrated knowledge of the role of gender in social relations in institutions.Ability to supervise students, student groups and facilitate group planning, help resolve issues as needed.Ability to recruit, motivate and organize community volunteers.Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.Excellent time and project management skills.Must be self-motivated and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities to meet deadlines.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Willingness to take initiative and assist with general office tasks as needed.Ability to work under pressure in a very busy environment and to manage multiple assignments that overlap in time.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Ability to meet consistent attendance.Ability to interact with colleagues, supervisors, and customers face to face.Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, and strong research skills.
