Deane School of Law at Hofstra University seeks applications for the position of Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions. The Assistant Director is responsible for recruiting and enrolling incoming students in the Law School’s on campus and online graduate and certificate programs. The Assistant Director will provide proactive outreach to potential students, and strong support and direction to prospective students from inquiry through enrollment. The position requires the ability to communicate effectively and timely with a prospective student population consisting of adult, working professionals.

The Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions is part of the Office of Enrollment Management and reports to the Associate Dean for Enrollment Management. The Assistant Director works closely with the Senior Associate Dean for Career Services, Compliance, and Strategic Initiatives, Assistant Dean for Communications, and Senior Associate Dean for Finance.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1.Engage in outreach campaigns to potential students to help generate applicants.
2.Work with the Office of Communications to contribute to marketing campaigns.
3.Provide exceptional customer service to prospective students and applicants.
4.Respond to leads and applicants in a timely manner.
5.Work closely with Program Directors to utilize Law School faculty and administrators to positively impact prospective students during the application process.
6.Track student progress from lead to enrollment and report on key enrollment metrics.
7.Review submitted application files to ensure they are complete to provide an admission decision in a timely manner.
8.Evaluate application files to make application decisions.
9.Plan and participate in on- and off-campus programs and virtual programs hosted by the Law School to recruit students.
10.Create written materials designed to provide information to prospective students and guide them through the application process.
11.Perform other duties as assigned by Associate Dean for Enrollment Management.
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree and three to five years demonstrated admissions experience. Graduate admissions experience preferred. Candidate will possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Must be collaborative, organized, and detail oriented. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required.
