Organizational Unit Overview:

The ECU Brody School of Medicine is affiliated with ECU Physicians and Vidant Medical Center. ECU Physicians is the faculty practice plan for the Brody School of Medicine. We offer the region’s most comprehensive care for every stage of life and are comprised of more than 500 physicians and advanced practitioners – across 37 specialties – throughout eastern North Carolina. Vidant Medical Center is the flagship hospital for Vidant Health and serves as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Vidant Medical Center is a 974-bed tertiary referral center, providing services to more than 1.4 million people in 29 counties.

Job Duties :

This position will function as lead program manager for the ‘Healthier Lives at School and Beyond’ school telehealth program in the ECU Department of Family Medicine. This program provides an efficient and effective means of delivering life-changing health care to children who really need it, helping to improve the quality of their life. The person in this position will manage and supervise implementation and evaluation of team-based care for under served patients, including school-aged children and teachers/staff. Such services will be provided directly into rural schools and/or the patient’s home setting via a HIPAA compliant telehealth enabled system. This unique position offers the appropriate candidate the opportunity for management of a school telehealth program.

Minimum Education/Experience :

Post baccalaureate (masters or higher) degree with at least 2 years of healthcare quality improvement experience. Qualifying degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

A Valid NC Driver’s License and the ability to work a flexible schedule with travel in the region.

Demonstrated ability to teach learners using effective verbal and written communication strategies, examples, applications, simulations, etc. and in multiple practice settings of varying size.

Demonstrated experience with public speaking & presenting.

Demonstrated teaching or coaching skills.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation :

Licensed to practice as a clinician in NC.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education :

Five years’ experience managing a school-based telehealth program for school-aged children; experience managing external grant funding.
