We are recruiting for a pool of adjunct instructors to instruct a variety of lab hours and who meet our minimum qualifications within the following area: Computer Literacy
Highest need for instruction hours are evenings 5-8pm.
Other hours may include, M-F, 9am-noon and/or 1-4pm.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)

Under the direct supervision of the Career Connections Director, the instructor is responsible for providing instruction to students within the assigned and approved instructional delivery system and in accordance with the mission, goals, policies and procedures of the District.
The role is part of a team of instructors providing instruction and support to the same students throughout the semester. The instructor is responsible for providing an active learning environment to enable each computer literacy student to identify their computer literacy goals and collaboratively develop an individualized learning plan to complete these goals. Instructors are expected to create a student learning centered environment that places learning at the center of educational experiences.
Teaching opportunities include one-on-one, in-person classroom instruction.

Minimum Qualifications

Requirements may vary according to the instructional area and position.

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an appropriate field. A Master's degree is preferred.

2. Twenty-four months of directly related occupational experience for occupational subject instructors. One year of occupational experience must be within the last five years.

3. Previous teaching experience is desirable.

4. Strong communication skills among team members, while independently running class sessions.

4. Preferred knowledge and/or experience with Windows 10 - including adjusting display and audio settings, MS Word, MS Access, MS OneNote, MS Excel, MS Edge, MS Internet Explorer, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, desktop hardware, keyboard/typing techniques, computer security, e-mail use, search engine use, computer terms, assistive technology devices, Windows accessibility settings, training computer users with little or no experience.

Days/Hours vary.
Fall semester 2021 available hours are Tuesday and Thursday evenings 5-8pm. Availability of hours may change after the fall semester. Fall term 1 starts the week of August 16, 2021, with training hours prior to the start of the term.
