The Department of Economics in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Colorado Denver invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position in Applied Economics for the 2021/2022 academic year.

The department seeks highly motivated candidates working in all fields in applied microeconomics and whose research enhances existing areas of strength within the department (clas.ucdenver.edu/economics).  We also have an interest in individuals who can teach health economics and/or urban economics at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels.

Examples of Work Performed

Over the course of this position, the Visiting Assistant Professor will engage fully in the college through 40% teaching (four courses for the academic year) and 60% research and creative work.

To be successful in this position, candidates will need the following:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
  • Evidence showing promise of research and/or creative work that enhances existing areas of strength within the department (clas.ucdenver.edu/economics)
Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $85,000 to $117,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications  

  • Ph.D. in Economics
Preferred Qualifications

  •  Research specialties in applied econometrics and/or health or urban economics.
  • Evidence of applied economics teaching at the graduate and/or undergraduate levels.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
