General Summary of Position:

The GPS admissions and advising team is seeking a part-time support specialist. This role is vital to supporting the needs of the admissions & advising teams through various administrative tasks, customer service and student support. A strong desire to provide top-tier customer service is a must.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; answering phones, processing paperwork related to student application, processing registrations for non-matriculated students, entering transfer credit information, answering emails, updating and maintaining student records.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • HS diploma or GED/equivalent required, background in customer support. Preference to those with previous higher education experience
  • Must be proficient in MS office

Special Instructions to Applicants:

New employees will be trained to gain working knowledge of our Student Information System (SiS) and our available student services. They will also work with UMASS Lowell faculty, students and staff and will handle confidential information.

Seeking a candidate that has outstanding phone and email etiquette and the ability to answer questions in a professional and timely manner.

This is an on-campus, temporary, part-time, non-benefited, non-unit position – 18 hours per week. The GPS office is open from 8:30am-8pm M-Th and 8:30am-5p F. The ideal candidate will be available to work at least one 3:30-8pm shift each week.
