Currently, Franklin & Marshall College is recruiting for an Associate Director of Regional Admission.  

The Associate Director of Regional Admission is responsible for the identification, recruitment and evaluation of promising prospective students within the designated territory.  Being regionally based, the Associate Director serves as the college's admission presence in this territory and internationally as needed and is expected to foster strong relationships on behalf of Franklin & Marshall College within the community.  The position will be regionally located in the greater Washington/DC/Northern Virginia area.

Essential functions

  • Represent Franklin & Marshall College, its programs and co-curricular offerings to prospective students and families at out-of-state recruitment events, including high school and college visits, college fairs, visits to individual schools and community-based organizations, receptions, information sessions, and presentations.
  • Supervise and mentor two Assistant Director of Regional Admission positions.  This includes developing new skills, overseeing recruitment efforts and special projects, and all personnel related matters.  Managing the Assistant Director positions while residing in multiple time zones. This will include weekly meetings to discuss updates on recruitment initiatives and other special projects.
  • Collaborate closely with the Office of Financial Aid, Athletics & Recreation, Residential Programs, and other campus partners. Serve as a partner, maintaining an excellent level of customer service with prospective students and their families, and the College's employees.
  • Work closely with the admissions staff in strategic planning and data analysis for assigned territories to meet institutional goals. 
  • Assist in the executing of a variety of on-campus and off-campus recruitment and yield programs, virtually and in-person.
  • Will be required to work on some evenings and weekends in the representation of the College through regional recruitment programs.
  • Serve on project teams and complete administrative projects as assigned, and travel to Lancaster, PA as needed for training and regular collaboration with constituents on campus.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred.
  • One to three years experience in sales/recruitment or other relevant employment required.  Four to seven years preferred 
  • Experience in college admission recruitment or secondary school counseling preferred.  
  • Intermediate skills in using Google Suite required.
  • Basic skills with databases preferred.
  • CRM Experience preferred.
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills required.
  • The ability and willingness to provide excellent service and to work in a collegial manner with students, faculty and staff, and other constituencies is essential.

Because this position requires driving for College business, the successful candidate must possess a U.S. or Canadian driver's license which has been valid for at least two years, have a driving record that is free from excessive motor vehicle violations within the last three years, and have had no convictions in the last 24 months for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The online training course must be completed at least once every two years by faculty, staff and Franklin & Marshall students who interact with minors.
