Job Summary

The Enrollment Specialist serves as the primary liaison to the target schools for the dual enrollment component of the STEM grant program. This is a temporary grant-funded position. This grant position will be eligible for participation in the Florida Retirement System (FRS) after 6 consecutive months of continuous employment.

Duties & Responsibilities

•Oversees student recruitment and participates in dissemination of project information to potential participants
•Partners with area high schools to assist students in planning STEM academic and career pathways and inform them about dual enrollment opportunities
•Secures and maintains student information and performs follow-up; communicates with students on a regular basis via in-person, telephone, mail and e-mail to resolve difficulties
•Serves as the main administrative point of contact for STEM dual enrollment students, helping facilitate navigation of college services and resources
•Creates a parent/community support group at each school to explain the benefits of a college education
•Acts as the primary point of contact for all high school students enrolled in the program by tracking performance and providing counseling as needed
•Identifies at-risk students and implement the necessary intervention strategies
•Coordinates with Grant Director to develop and implement strategies to achieve grant goals and objectives
•Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in STEM, education, psychology or related field and five (5) years of related experience; or Master’s degree in a related field and one (1) year of related work experience
•All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
•Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
•Knowledge of College programs and procedures regarding admission, advisement, registration, financial aid, graduation and career services
•Knowledge of Microsoft office software and specific computer programs related to area of responsibility
•Ability to effectively present information to groups of administration, faculty, students, and the community
•Ability to define problems, collect and manage student data in a secure environment
•Ability to organize and manage tasks in a timely manner
•Ability to work flexible schedule including days, evenings, and some weekends
•Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
