Job Summary:

The instructor for Cybersecurity reports directly to the Chair of Business and Industrial Technology. The cybersecurity adjunct instructor will teaching cybersecurity courses during the fall, spring, and summer semesters as required by the department. Duties and responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to, the following: provide classroom instruction that teaches assigned students in the manner described in the course textbooks and materials; manage the instructional content for the assigned topic area; develop and deliver new content and make recommendations for revisions of existing topic area content; conduct practical exercises in a laboratory environment; assess student knowledge, skills and abilities to gauge student proficiency in topic area; and supporting the mission of LSCPA. Performs other related work as assigned. Teaching assignment may include day, evening, online, hybrid, or dual-credit classes.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate of Applied Science degree in Cybersecurity or related field from an accredited college.
Three (3) years of related (non-teaching) work experience.
Must be able to teach face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online-based courses.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college. Experience with the use of Learning Management Systems such as Blackboard Previous experience teaching at a community college Prior online teaching experience and online/distance education certification CompTIA Network+ Certification CompTIA Security+ Certification Cisco CCNA Certification

Depends on course load

Work Hours:

Part-time; Could be days or evening classes.
