Part-time Adjunct Faculty

Waubonsee Community College’s Health Professions and Public Service division is currently seeking an adjunct instructorfor Medical Assistant.
Adjunct faculty members are responsible for delivering curriculum,providing instruction, and performing student learning assessment. The successful candidate will demonstrate theability to effectively use instructional and classroom technology to enhanceteaching and learning. Courses atWaubonsee Community College may be offered in various delivery modes including,but not limited to, face-to-face, asynchronous online, synchronous online,hybrid, and flex.
Essential functions of this position include, but are not limitedto:
Designing syllabi, lessons, activities, assignments, andassessments to meet the established course description as well as program,course, and college learning outcomes and/or objectives while addressing eachstudent’s needs as diverse learners.
Incorporating learning-centered principles and concepts whilemotivating students to actively participate in their educational experiences.
Integrating instructional and classroom technology (if applicable)appropriately and effectively to deliver and enhance teaching and learning.
Working collaboratively with professional colleagues to serve theneeds of students and the community.
Modeling professionalism with excellent communication,presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Required Qualifications:
Associates degree in Medical Assisting or related field
CMA Certified
2 years teaching experience
2 years hand on experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching at aCommunity College or Vocational/Technical institution.
Experience teaching traditionally underserved populations.
Experience incorporating technology and multimedia applicationsinto teaching and learning process.
Experience in teaching in multiple instructional modalities.
Experience in utilizing Learning Management Systems.
